When your friend who is Skinner than you complains about being fat, it really makes you think how fat she must think you are.

I think I know the exact moment when I lost my motivation. I had been chugging water all evening to make up for what I hadn’t drunk earlier, and I drank so much that I got sick and dizzy, pretty sure it was water intoxication. It kind of snapped me out of my disordered mindset for just long enough for me to get back into all of my disgusting habits, and by the time that clarity wore off I had lost all sense of discipline. How the FUCK do I get it back I’m sick of this
Something that a lot of people don’t know that comes with eating healthy, cutting out sugars and dairy while drinking plenty of water will drastically improve your singing voice! I didn’t believe it when I was younger but now I’m actually experiencing it and it’s honestly a huge improvement?? So for anyone out there who loves singing as much as I do, that’s great motivation to keep your diet healthy!
Reasonable Thinspo Tips
1. Weight loss takes time. Even 1lb of loss per week, if kept off, is impressive. Racing to lose weight at an unreasonable speed is bad for your motivation and makes you more likely to give up or gain the weight back. A fast but still realistic goal is at most 2.5lbs per week.
2. Stop making promises you can’t keep. Saying things like “I’ll never eat again”, “I’ll never eat junk food”, “I’ll always exercise daily for 2 hours” just sets you up for defeat. Set small, achievable goals, like “I won’t eat junk food this week” or “on Mondays and Fridays I’ll work out for 2 hours”. Do what you are capable of.
3. When you’re actually hungry, eat something small - a piece of toast, a half cup of cereal, a sliced fruit or veggie. This keeps your blood sugar level and prevents cravings as well as stops you from over eating when you have your next meal. Real, dedicated weight loss includes food.
4. Every thinspo tip about water is true. Drink at least 2 litres a day. Flavour with lemon or peppermint tea bags. If you aren’t hydrated, you can’t digest your food or push out toxins, which means bloating, which means slower loss and an uglier fatter body. Drink. Water.
5. Try not to cut calories too hard too quickly. If you’re used to eating 2000cal a day, cutting down to 500cal means you’ll plateau at 500cal way quicker at a higher weight. Cut to 1200, then 1000, then 950, so on and so forth. There’s no use in eating 5 almonds a day if in the end it’s just going to stop you from reaching your goals in a sustainable way.

Things that can Destroy your Motivation
1. Not having goals. You can’t reach your goals if you don’t know what they are.
2. Choosing goals that don’t inspire you. You won’t be able to keep on going if the prize at the end doesn’t really matter to you.
3. Expecting immediate results. Anything worthwhile is a battle and a struggle. It takes times and effort to bring about a change.
4. Lack of support. We all need someone to believe in us and to be our cheerleader when we start to feel discouraged.
5. Not believing in yourself. As Henry Ford so wisely said: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.”
6. Feeling bored. Most success involves a lot of humdrum work, and repeatedly doing the same kind of stuff. But each day brings you closer to achieving what you want.
7. Inaction and laziness. You have to work the plan before the plan will work … and dreams are only dream till you turn your thoughts to actions. Also, it’s crucially important that you manage your time well, and you don’t get distracted or procrastinate.
8. Being around negative people. There are plenty of people who only see the flaws, and whose eyes are on the problems, and the absence of solutions. If you hang out with them, you will lose your zest and passion, and your positive outlook will soon be undermined.
9. Comparing yourself to others. We each are individuals, and we start from different places; we all face our challenges, and work at different rates. Remember “it’s your journey”. Be patient with yourself.
10. Encountering setbacks. No matter how great your plans, or your level of commitment, you’re bound to face some setbacks and encounter obstacles. That’s a normal part of growth – just keep going when life’s tough.
